Conventional Mechanical Seal: A Traditional Sealing Solution for Standard Pump and Equipment Applications
The term conventional mechanical seal refers to a non-cartridge design of mechanical seal which requires the user to assemble the various components (seal faces, springs, secondary seals, and hardware) on to the pump or rotating equipment during installation. Standard mechanical seals have been utilized for a long time in the vast majority of industrial pumping applications and continue to be effective for stable operating conditions when standard shaft alignments, operating pressures, and temperatures are maintained.
