Single Cartridge Mechanical Seal Applications

Cartridge mechanical seals are selected for clean or lightly contaminated media when used in water supply and most industrial pump applications. Their compact design and ease of installation are advantageous for many HVAC applications, circulating cooling water, or irrigation equipment.

In high-temperature oil and other thermal fluid systems, some cartridge mechanical seal designs can be used when matched with appropriate face materials and secondary seals. These cartridge seals are used in refineries, power plants and thermal fluid systems to provide stability in operation and control of excessive heat build-up.
